Island Time

Island Time is a live-action, animated, and puppet-filled educational children’s show that teaches the Chamorro language and celebrates island culture. The series follows Fu’una, a young woman on Saipan who is left to house-sit for her grandmother—only for her grandmother’s pet goat and coconut crab to transform into wisecracking puppets. Targeting Chamorro youth in the Marianas and the global diaspora, this colorful, Sesame Street-inspired adventure uses local music, comedy, and zany antics to show how growing up in the digital age still offers opportunities to connect with a living, 4,000-year-old tradition.
